Thank you! You know, I've never played World of Warcraft so I'm not sure how that influence has slipped in there, but looking at some promo art I can kinda see what you mean!

Yeah, we all have our moments of laziness… and moments when things are too busy and your attention is diverted elsewhere.

Speaking of which, I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to reply to messages the past few days, it's been an exciting time around here lately. I'm now an auntie! :)

This looks stunning! I love how her dress fades into her shadow.

Thanks! I was trying to try to see if I could create something like the charcoal and conté stuff I did at a recent art class but digitally. :)

It's not quite the same… for starters, I can't just reach out and smudge/blend with my fingers, so the dress/shadow fade was one of the trickiest parts - I'm pleased you like how it turned out!

Yep, digital in Photoshop, with a brush called "Stumpy Pencil" [link]

Stumpy Pencil does a marvellous job of mimicking pencil-like textures, even when I blow the brush sizes up WELL beyond their presets. The brush does such a good job of feeling like real pencil, I even tried to use proper pencil shading techniques (this turned out not quite so good… but altering the brush's opacity helped achieve the effect needed).

My only criticism of the brush set is that it could have some more variants besides size, to mimic the hardness/softness range from say 8B to 4H? But maybe I can work out a way to mimic that (and a way to mimic smudging stuff with fingers).

Oh look, I accidentally a lot of words again. o.o

Thanks for the link! I've wanted a good pencil-like brush for a while.

Thank you! I referenced some animal horns to try to get it, but the REALLY BIG horns are tricky… I'm glad they turned out!
